FAQ

Why was the Foundation created?

The Foundation was created in 2011 by community members who wanted to enhance the educational opportunities for students within the district.

What do we do?

We seek out and fund forward-thinking projects proposed by our teachers, providing unique experiences that fall beyond the scope of the current curriculum.

Is the Foundation part of the PTA?

No. Our goal is to work collaboratively with the PTA and the school district.

How does the Foundation interact with the School District?

The Superintendent and the High School principal are non-voting members of the Foundation Board.  They assist in evaluating proposed grants to help ensure their educational value and relevance to the curriculum.

How do we raise our funds?

Our projects are supported entirely through fundraisers and donations. The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non‐profit organization and all gifts are tax deductible.

How can you get involved?

The Foundation is always looking for new members to participate in fundraising, project evaluation, and grant-writing efforts, and we accept donations at any time. New ideas from parents and community members are always welcome.

Will the Foundation accept money from my company’s matching gift program?

Absolutely.

When and where do we meet?

Meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month at the District Office Conference Room at Lenape Elementary School. All are welcome to attend.

Who do I speak to if I want to contribute or sponsor the Foundation?

Christina Benevento is our Donations Coordinator and she can answer all questions regarding contribution and sponsorship. You can email her at cjbene@gmail.com.
