Lenape Playground – Gaga Ball Pit (Jim Longbotham);
Gaga Ball is a fast-paced, active game that promotes physical development, hand-eye coordination, agility, and social interaction while being accessible to players of all skill levels. A 15-foot Gaga Ball Pit will be installed between the pavilion and the swing set on the Lenape Elementary School Playground. This piece of equipment will encourage inclusive play, physical activity, social development, and is adaptable for different groups.
Plastic Fantastic – High School (Matthew Esposito and Kathleen Schneck);
Plastic Fantastic is a community-based, sculptural experience assembled by high school students with visiting artist Diedra Krieger. Made from 6,000 post-consumer water bottles on a 16-foot geodesic dome armature, the dome serves as a centerpiece for organizing social relations and raises questions about art materials and the lifespan of plastic. The finished sculpture will be available for daily use through the end of the year.
